Some envious persons who could not make any devotees on their own dared to criticise his divine grace Srila Prabhupada for preaching the abc's to his new disciples, as if THEY could give them more than Srila Prabhupada.
But Srila Prabhupada's books are perfectly designed to bring one from the beginning stage of spritual life all the way to perfection. And once there, if a devotee feels drawn to hear and chant more about higher elevated pastimes then great. It's not that we can never expect to be able to hear those more elevated talks.
We know that the six goswamis would speak among themselves about highly elevated topics, and Lord Caitanya and other associates of the Lord. Srila Prabhupada did not tell us to pretend to be on a higher platform. He said to first deserve, and then desire to hear these things. We cannot ignore his books and concentrate fully on the works of previous acharyas picking only the highest most elevated books to read as if we are on that platform ARTIFICIALLY! And anyone who preaches that their association is so advanced that all of a sudden we can should be viewed with suspicion. We don't need their association that is for sure. Enough books have been translated by Srila Prabhupada's own disciples and are being translated still that we should remain satisfied with that.
Srila Prabhupada's purports are absolutely amazing, and hardly repeat themselves, and what is repeated is for our own good and understanding. No one on earth could ever write such books without being directly empowered by Krsna, like Vyasadeva. These are not just ordinary books, they are truly full of transcendental ecstacies.
